Privacy Policy

The short version: we only collect what you send us, and we only use it to reply.

Last updated: October 2026

Who we are

This website, stux.group, is run by Stux Group Ltd (trading as “Stux.Group”), a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 13160574). Stux Group Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described here. Full details are in the Imprint.

This policy covers stux.group only. Each Stux.Group brand (Stux.Dev, Stuxedo, Stux.Music and so on) has its own privacy policy on its own website.

What we collect

Contact form
Your name, email address, subject and message, if you choose to send us one. It’s delivered to our inbox as an email and used only to reply to you.
Rate limiting
When you send the contact form, a one-way hash of your IP address is stored with a counter for up to one hour to stop spam. The raw IP address is never saved by the site.
Session cookie
A strictly necessary cookie that protects the contact form from forged submissions and shows you whether your message was sent. See the Cookies Policy.
Theme choice
If you use the light/dark switch, your choice is kept in your own browser’s localStorage. It never reaches us.
Server logs
Like almost every website, our hosting and network providers keep standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser) for security and fault-finding, for a limited period.
Analytics & ads
None. No analytics scripts, no advertising, no tracking pixels, no third-party trackers.

Why we use it (lawful basis)

Under the UK GDPR, we rely on legitimate interests: replying to messages you choose to send us, and keeping the site secure and free of spam. We don’t use your data for marketing, and we never sell or rent it.

How long we keep it

  • Contact messages: for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and then for up to 24 months in case you follow up, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
  • Rate-limit records: one hour.
  • Session cookie: until you close your browser.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers needed to run the site: our web host, our network and security provider (which sits in front of the site to protect it from attacks), and our email provider. They process data on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service. Images on the site are served from Stux.Group’s own media servers.

We’ll only share data with anyone else if the law requires it.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to data portability. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We’ll respond within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We’d appreciate the chance to put things right first, though.

Children

This site isn’t aimed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
